Amanda Isaac - Head Coach
(Coach of National Open Squad)

Amanda was named as the Head Coach of Nunawading Swimming Club in 2008. Amanda coaches the National Open Squad (with Rohan Taylor). Amanda oversees the entire Nunawading Squad Program. Amanda has 13 years coaching experience. Amanda is a completing her Gold Licence requirements.
Amanda was a Team Coach of the Australian Paralympics Team in Beijing in September 2008. Amanda has been involved with the Paralympic Team since 2005 including the IPC World Championship Team in 2006. Amanda was selected on the Australian Team for the West Coast Tour to the USA in 2009.
Amanda works directly with our Club Coaches including High Performance Coach Rohan Taylor, and our Swim Committee and also the Board of Nunawading Swimming Club. Amanda also assists with providing a pathway for emerging swimmers to Open and International level swimming.
Amanda is a crucial link between all parties of the Nunawading Swimming Club.

Rohan Taylor – High Performance Coach
(Coach of National Open Squad)

Rohan has 18 years coaching experience and has been a VIS High Performance Coach since 2000. Rohan was the Carey Aquatic Head Coach/High Performance Coach from 2000 to 2006 and CA Tritons High Performance Coach from 2006 to 2008.
Rohan has been a National Team Coach on the following Australian teams:
- 1999 World Championships Short Course
- 2000 Head Coach Oceania Championships
- 2004 World Championships Short Course
- 2005 World Championships Long Course
- 2006 Pan Pacific Championships
- 2008 World Short Course Manchester
- 2008 Olympic Games Beijing
- 2009 World Championships Long Course
- 2010 Pan Pacific Championships
Rohan has been a Director of the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) from 1997 to present and Chairman from 2005-2009.
Rohan coaches the high performance squad at Nunawading (with Amanda Isaac) and also oversees the talent identification and coach development at the club. Rohan also works with the Nunawading Swimming Club Board. Rohan has a strong influence on our National Squads, especially with the National Squad Coaches.
We value Rohan’s years of experience with the industry at all levels from Learn to Swim to High Performance.

Dean Bryant - Head Age Coach
(Coach of National Age Squad)

Dean is our Head Age Coach. Dean Coaches the National Age Squad (with Nick Veliades) and the State Junior Squad (with Kirsty Woodham). Dean also oversees all Junior athletes from the entry level Squad through to National Age medallists.
Dean works directly with the Coaches of State Junior, State Development, Junior A, Junior B and Hanson Squads. Dean also works with our Nunawading Swim School program, Just Swimming.
Dean is a Silver Licence Coach and Dean also has a Bachelor of Applied Science.
One of Dean’s highlights has being awarded Swimming Victoria Age Group Coach of the Year. Dean has also been heavily involved with the Swimming Australia Junior Excellence Program. Nunawading achieved the Best JX Club in 2009.
Dean is guided by Rohan Taylor, our High Performance Coach and Amanda Isaac, our Head Coach. Dean is an important link in our Coaching Team.

Nick Veliades - Age Performance Coach
(Coach of National Age Squad)

Nick is the Coach of the National Age Squad (with Dean Bryant). Nick’s Coaching role includes managing the support offered to our Age athletes as well as on deck day to day Coaching. Nick also works with the Coaches of National Open Squad, State Youth Squad and Armstrong Squad.
Nick is a Silver Licence Coach and has a Strength and Conditioning certificate. Nick is currently completing his Gold Licence. Nick has been part of the Nunawading Age Nationals Team that has placed in the Top 10 in the Club Point Score for the past 4 years.
Nick has been a Head Coach of the Swimming Victoria Development Squads Program for the past 3 years.
A highlight of Nick’s Coaching career was his selection on the Australian Junior Pan Pacific Championship Team who travelled to Guam in January 2009.
Nick is guided by Rohan Taylor, our High Performance Coach and Amanda Isaac, our Head Coach. Nick is an important member in our Coaching Team.

Melissa Klamt - NSC Coach
(Coach of State Youth Squad)

Melissa is a former Nunawading swimmer and worked as the Club’s Scholarship coach throughout 2007. Melissa primarily coaches the State Youth Squad and also works as an assistant coach with other squads within the club including National Squads.
Melissa is a Bronze Licence coach who has successfully coached swimmers of Australian Age National Standards and State Age and Open Championships.
Mel has had recent success at the 2010 Australian Age Championships as well as coaching a swimmer to compete internationally at the Maccabi Games in 2009. Mel has also coached a swimmer with a disability to win 5 gold medals at the 2009 Dwarf games and the Australian Youth Paralympics Games also in 2009. Mel has also been involved with the Swimming Victoria Development Program.
Mel balances fun and dedication in her Coaching style. Mel works under Nick Veliades, our High Performance Age Coach, and is an important member of our Coaching Team.

Kirsty Woodham - NSC Coach
(Coach of State Junior Squad and State Age Squad)

Kirsty has been Coaching in the Nunawading Squad Structure for 3 years. Kirsty was identified as one of the best teachers in the Just Swimming Swim School Program. This progression has lead Kirsty to Coach the State Junior Squad and the State Development Squad.
Kirsty is a Bronze Licence Coach, and works in a full-time position with the Nunawading Swimming Club. Kirsty’s impact at Nunawading is within the 10-14 year age bracket. These years are important years for developing swimmers.
Kirsty provides her swimmers with plenty of feedback on their stroke technique, direction on the starts and turns as well as positive reinforcement and plenty of encouragement throughout each session and at competitions.
Kirsty follows the direction of Dean Bryant, our Head Age Coach. Kirsty understand the importance of education at this stage of a swimmers development and because of this Kirsty plays an important role in our Coaching Team. |
Emma Beanland - NSC Coach
(Coach of Junior A Squad)

Emma began coaching with Nunawading in October 2008 and continues to work with the Just Swimming Program. Emma works to inspire swimmers aged 12 years and under to develop an understanding of basic skills and drills to allow them to continue on through the squad system.
Emma has her Bronze Coaching Licence and is currently studying Exercise and Sports Science at Deakin University with a major in Exercise Physiology.
Emma educates her athletes on an increased understanding of competition, doing so in an enjoyable way to enhance all members of her Squad. The importance of learning skills is continued under Emma’s direction.
Emma works under the guidance of Dean Bryant, our Head Age Coach and Emma is an important link in our Coaching Team. Emma also assists in our Dry land Program supporting her University studies.

Rebecca Stone – NSC Coach

Bec has been a member of Nunawading Swimming Club for 11 years. Bec coaches our Junior B squad. Bec has a Junior Squad Assistant Coach Licence who assists throughout our squad program.
Bec is a bubbly member of our Coaching Staff. Bec is willing to offer her assistance when needed and has a background of competitive swimming so she understands the needs of swimmers and the direction of Coaches. Bec adds support to our Coaching Team.
Bec has an important role to develop the skills of up and coming junior swimmers within Nunawading. Bec extends her knowledge of swimming to her athletes whilst maintaining a fun and enjoyable environment. Bec also continues to expand swimmers understanding of competition at this squad level.
Bec works closely with Dean Bryant, our Head Age Coach, and also within our Coaching Team, assisting at all levels from Junior squads to National squads. |

Liz Williams - NSC Coach
(Coach of Hanson Squad at Aqualink Nunawading)

Liz has developed her Swimming knowledge through our Just Swimming Swim School Program. Liz has shown a keen eye for swimming technique and has an enthusiastic outlook for developing talented swimmers. Liz runs the Hanson Aqualink squads.
Liz creates a positive environment for young swimmers to learn the skills required for Squad training. Liz has established a fun and challenging way of educating swimmers.
Liz is currently completing her Bronze Licence.
Liz is guided by Dean Bryant, our Head Junior Coach, and Liz works will within our Coaching Team.

Simon Moule - NSC Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

Simon oversees the entire Dry land and Strength and Conditioning program within the Nuawading Squad Structure. Simon has direct contact with all of our Coaches. Simon offers direction and support through his years of experience.
Simon holds the following degrees of Education:
Masters Exercise Science (Strength & Conditioning) Edith Cowan University
Graduate Diploma in Education (Sports Science) Deakin University
Diploma Teaching (Primary) Deakin University
Simon is also Member of the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association
Simon works directly with the National Open and Age athletes in our High Performance program and, in conjunction with squad coaches and assistant strength and conditioning coaches, coordinate the planning of the youth and junior programs that make up our club squad structure. Simon also ensures safe and controlled progressions through our squad levels.
Simon follows the direction of the High Performance Coach Rohan Taylor and Head Coach Amanda Isaac. Simon’s experience allows Nunawading to run the best Strength and Dry land programs in Swimming. Simon is an important member of our Coaching Team.
