AUSTRALIAN AGE
CHAMPIONSHIPS – DAY 2 FINALS
GOLD & SILVER ON NIGHT TWO
There were 3 individual final swims on night two of the
Australian Age Championships with the following results.
Nicholas Groenewald won GOLD in the Boys 13/u 200m Individual Medley in
a fantastic time of 2:12.11for his first individual gold medal at a
National Championships. This is an outstanding effort as Nicholas is
only 12 years old competing against all of the 12 and 13 year swimmers from
across the country. His time was only 0.13 seconds outside of the
Australian 13 years and under record. Well done Nick.
Belinda Bennett was next up in the final of the 17-18 years 400m Individual
medley. Belinda finished 4th in the time of 5:01.30. Well
done Bindy.
Llewellyn Little swam a great race in the 17-18 years Boys 400m Individual
medley winning SILVER in a time of 4:31.51. Well done Llewellyn.
In the final two events of the night the Girls and Boys 18/u
4 x 100 Freestyle Relay the teams finished 7th (Belinda Bennett,
Jessica Beveridge, Tamara Groves, Meg Parry) and 8th (Michael
Forno, Jack Day, Mark Bustard, Llewellyn Little) respectively. Well done to
all 8 swimmers.
After night two, Nunawading sits 9th on the Club
Point score with 223 points..
Day three heats have continued this morning.
