AUSTRALIAN AGE
CHAMPIONSHIPS – DAY 3 FINALS
GOLD & SILVER REPEATED ON NIGHT THREE
On night 3 of competition Nunawading won another GOLD and
SILVER medal.
Nicholas Groenewald won GOLD in the Boys 13/u 200m Backstroke, blitzing the field to win
by nearly 5 seconds in a time of 2:12.20. Well done Nic.
Kate Laidlaw swam a great race in the 800m Freestyle to take 13 seconds
off her PB and finished 6th in Australia in the 12-13 years 800m
Freestyle. Well done Kate.
Jack Currie swam an excellent race to finish 8th in the Boys
14 year 100m Freestyle in 54.76.
Belinda Bennett swam a 2:05.94 to finish 9th in the final of the
17-18 years Girls 200m Freestyle.
Lliam Hunt finished 10th in the final of the Boys 15 years
50m Freestyle in a time of 24.88.
In the Girls 14/u Medley relay the Nunawading team of Madison
Walsh, Stephanie Moore, Jessica Beveridge & Rebekah Keating swam a
great race to finish in 4th place.
Next up was the Boys 14/u Medley relay where the Nunawading
team of Nicholas Groenewald, Scott Huang, Benjamin Schoenmaekers &
Jack Currie won the SILVER medal.
In the Girls 16/u 4 x 100m Freestyle relay, the Nunawading
team of Jessica Forster, Nikaylah Hanlen, Natalie Macgregor & Carly
Robson finished in 8th place.
And in the Boys 16/u 4 x 100m Freestyle relay, the
Nunawading team of Edward Lim, Tyran Groves, Sean Whitten & Lliam
Hunt finished in 5th place. All these boys are only 15
years.
After night three, Nunawading sits 7th on the
Club Point score with 384 points.
Day four heats have continued this morning.
