VICTORIAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

 DAY THREE FINALS

 

The evening session saw 25 Individual swims and 4 relay swims again showcase the strength of Nunawading:

 

·         Another 12 PB’s !!

·         5 Individual Gold medals – (Jeremy Tidy(2), Sarah Katsoulis, Prue Watt, & Ellen Gandy)

·         2 Individual  Silver medals – (Chelsea Carpenter & Shane Asbury)

·         3 Individual  Bronze medals –(Julia Algie, Talia Goddard & Sam Ashby)

·         1 Relay Gold medals – Women’s A team.

·         1 Relay Silver  medals – Men’s A team.

 

 There were many highlights to this event, I am not going to list them (I am sure to miss something important if I try.  But I think it’s worth mentioning Ellen Gandy, who’s points unfortunately do not get including in Nunawading’s total.  Ellen completed the event with a points score of 84,  that put her in 17th place on the club rankings!.. outperforming many well respected clubs!

 

DAY THREE HEATS

 

This morning’s session saw 75 Individual swims resulting in:

·         8 PB’s

·         34 Swims where the swimmer “rank” improved (45%)

·         12 heat wins.

·         6   heat 2nd’s

·         9   heat 3rd’s

·         27 swims qualifying for Finals  ( there were also several events that went straight to finals)

 

Once again of all 4 relay teams racing in the evening session had set us up for a great night.

 

 

 

DAY TWO FINALS

 

 The evening session saw 25 Individual swims and 4 relay swims again showcase the strength of Nunawading:

 

·         Another 12 PB’s !! (48%)

·         3 Individual Gold medals – (Sarah Katsoulis, Prue Watt, & Sam Ashby)

·         3 Individual  Silver medals – (Jeremy Tidy, Katie Bird & Jack, Laidler)

·         2 Individual  Bronze medals –Belinda Parslow & Chelsea Carpenter

·         2 Relay Gold medals – Both Men’s and Women’s A teams.

 

 Additional to this, Ellen Gandy produced 2 finals swims and 1 bronze medal  ( which I believe unfortunately don’t go to our point score.. but a great result anyway.)

 

DAY TWO HEATS

 

 Day 2 of the Open and SWD Championships saw the Nunawading Team again produce excellent results:

 

The morning session we had 75 Individual swims resulting in :

 

·         13 PB’s

·         38 Swims where the swimmer “rank” improved (51%)

·         5 heat wins.

·         11 heat 2nd’s

·         12 heat 3rd’s

·         21 swims qualifying for Finals  ( there were also several events that went straight to finals)

 

The addition of all 4 relay teams racing in the evening session set us up for a great night.
