Nunawading Swimming Club has improved our position at state level to be the number 2 ranked club in Victoria and the performances of our swimmers at National age level was our best for many years. Jack Laidler (14yrs 100 breaststroke) and Kimberley Chanter (15yrs 200 breaststroke) are Australian Age Champions, both winning gold and silver medals at the meet along with Sam Sheppard who was a bronze medalist in the 14yrs 200 backstroke.

Our international level performers have also continued to shine with Brooke Hanson achieving her best ever results at a major meet, taking home a gold (relay swimmer in heat) and silver medal (100m breaststroke) from the Athens Olympic Games last year and followed this up with an unprecedented 6 gold medals at the 2004 World Shortcourse Championships. Kimberley Chanter represented Australia for the first time in the Trans Tasman series in June 2004 and then went on to represent Australia again at the Sydney Youth Olympic Festival in January 2005, making both the 100m & 200m breaststroke finals. Jason Cohen has also been a consistent performer, touring Europe again to take part in the Mare Nostrum series of meets and gaining valuable international experience.

Our junior swimmers have continued to show improvement, with Nunawading winning the pointscore at the All Junior Competition and showing a 10% improvement on last years result (784 points compared to 710 points in 2003). Our junior swimmers also had more finals appearances at state championship meets and much better results in relay events as compared to last year.
