KEY COACHES SIGN 4 YEAR CONTRACTS

It is with a sense of great excitement that Nunawading Swimming Club announces the securement over the long term of our key full-time coaches.

Over the past 6 months the Board has been developing a new strategic plan.  As part of this process, the Board surveyed NSC members for their input into the future direction of the Club.  These findings were shared with members at our recent AGM.  One of the topics that we received the most feedback was the securement of long-term key coaching staff.  The Board has been working towards achieving this as a priority and are pleased to make the following announcements.

Following internal interviews by a sub-committee which included a representation of parents, life members and management as well as the President, the Board is pleased to announce that Amanda Isaac has been appointed as Head Coach of the Nunawading Swimming Club.  Amanda will commenced this role on Monday 21st July and will continue to coach the National Open squad.  Amanda has signed a 4 year contract with the Club.  In her role, Amanda will oversee the structure of the squad and club program and work closely with the Board, Swim Committee, Head Age Coach and Head Junior Coach.

The Board is pleased to announce that Nick Veliades has been appointed as the Head Age Coach of the Nunawading Swimming Club.  Nick’s role will remain largely unchanged from his current leadership role and Nick will continue to coach the National Youth Squad and will continue to manage the coaches and swimmers in the State Youth and State Development Squads as well as Armstrong squad.  Nick has also signed a 4 year contract with the Club effective from Monday 21st July 2008.

The Board is also pleased to announce that Dean Bryant has been appointed as the Head Junior Coach of the Nunawading Swimming Club.  Dean’s role will also remain largely unchanged from his current leadership role with the Junior section of the Club.  Dean will continue to coach the National Age Squad and State Junior Squads and will continue to manage the coaches and swimmers in the Junior A, Junior B and Hanson Squads.  Dean has also signed a 4 year contract with the Club effective from Monday 21st July 2008.

The Board is very excited to secure our three key coaches for the next 4 years and are now looking to work towards a number of the other major initiatives that have evolved from the strategic plan.

Congratulations to Amanda, Nick and Dean on their appointments and stay tune for more exciting developments over the next couple of months.
