Dandenong | Learn to Swim
The Learn to Swim Program consists of a comprehensive series of swimming lessons and water safety activities for children and adults of all ages and abilities.

Teacher Qualifications and Training
All of our swimming instructors have a wide range of knowledge and experience teaching all ages and abilities. Our team of staff have experience teaching infants, pre-school, school age children and adults. Our staff are dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic when it comes to teaching swimming. They are highly trained instructors who understand the importance of balancing the professionalism required to teach whilst maintaining the element of enjoyment throughout the lessons.
All of our instructors have the following qualifications:
• AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia Teacher award
• CPR qualifications
Teaching staff are required to participate in at least three internal staff training sessions per year to ensure a high quality and innovative program.
We provide pool side team leaders during lessons to provide continual training to staff along with feedback to parents about their child’s progress.
Attendance at Swimming Lessons
It is recommended that you arrive least 10 minutes prior to the swim lesson commencing. In the interest of your child’s safety it is imperative that your child is placed in, and collected from, the care of the instructor personally.
Lesson Cards
Your child will be issued with a laminated lesson card with a barcode. For OH&S reasons, the card must be scanned upon arrival to each lesson to record your child’s attendance in their class. On the back of the lesson card will be your child’s class level. This will be updated each time your child progresses to the next level.
Medical Conditions
Please ensure your child is well before participating in swim classes. It is the customer’s responsibility to advise the instructor and reception staff of any medical condition which may compromise the swimmer’s safety and/or progress within the lesson.
If you are unsure about an illness, please contact the swim school manager on 9706 8864.
Progress and Feedback
At Just Swimming Dandenong we aim to provide our customers with continual feedback about the progress of their child/children.
We provide team leaders during lessons who work poolside constantly assessing and monitoring the performance of the swimmer.
If at any stage you require further feedback, please do not hesitate to approach our team leaders.
Certificates
As participants progress to the next level of their swimming ability, a certificate is provided. A team leader will provide the parent with an upgrade slip, which must be presented at reception.
The reception staff member will then provide your child with a certificate of achievement for the relevant level.
Certificate folders are available to purchase from reception and are very popular with all of the children and can be kept for years to come.
Term Bookings
Our Learn to Swim program operates each day Monday to Sunday on a term basis. Your booking is considered permanent and on-going from term-to-term. You are required to notify reception staff if your child will be absent from a scheduled swim class or you wish to cancel your booking at the end of a term.
Payment Policy
Payment is required when making a booking. If enrolling part way through the term, payment is required upon booking for the remaining weeks of the term.
Invoices for the following term are sent within the last 3 weeks of the previous term. Payment is due for the following Term by the last day of the previous Term. If payment is not received by the due date, your booking will not be guaranteed.
Payment can be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the popularity and reputation of Just Swimming Dandenong and to provide your child with the best opportunity to progress through the swim school, we highly recommend that children include swimming lessons as a year round activity. It is often difficult to get back into the same day and time if you choose to miss a term.
Credit Policy
If a student is not able to complete a term or misses their lesson time for any reason, there will be NO REFUND.
A credit may be considered if a student misses 3 consecutive weeks for a medical reason, upon presentation of a Doctor’s Certificate. A request for credits must be made in writing to the Swim School Manager within in 14 days of the missed lessons. Please collect a Credit Request Form from the swim school reception.
